Minden is blessed with sunshine and moderate weather. Our winters aren't too harsh, our summers not too hot, and all four seasons are represented fully. The Sierra Nevada mountain range that rises sharply from the valley floor is just to our west and the towering peaks often block the most severe weather from ever reaching us.

Minden is at an elevation of 4709 feet and was established as a weather station on July 1, 1948.
